Fall Major 2022 Playoff Details

We’ve reached the halfway point of the Fall Major and we’re sure you’re wondering about the playoffs! We’ve looked at the number of rosters registered for each game, and are ready to share the playoff line for each leaderboard! The specific number of playoff qualifiers for each game, along with tiebreakers and the schedule, can be found in links in the bullet points below.

NEW THIS SEASON: More students will experience the playoffs than ever before! All Fall Major competitions will feature at least two playoff brackets: a championship bracket for the top-seeded students/teams, followed by a “Redemption Road” and/or “Bounceback Invitational” tournament where lower seeded teams can still compete in a playoff experience.

Please note, rosters/students must play a minimum of five regular season matches in order to be considered for playoff qualification. Normally the rule is six, but due to our service issues, we felt it would be more equitable to reduce this requirement.

Additionally, per rule rule 2.11.8.1, any unplayed matches at the end of the season will be converted to losses for the purposes of breaking ties and seeding the playoffs. If your students miss any matches (e.g. Fall Break), don’t forget we have make-up days at the end of the season!

The playoffs (excluding Minecraft) will be a single elimination bracket with matches played from 11/18-12/9. The top four from each of those brackets will move on to the finals or third place match from 12/12-14!
