A HOLISTIC SCHOLASTIC ESPORTS SOLUTION
We founded the High School Esports League in 2012 as a group of high school students who wanted to host and play in League of Legends tournaments. Over time, HSEL expanded into more games and competitions, and began requiring school-sanctioned clubs and teams. At the time, we believed the main benefit of scholastic gaming was connecting students together. But over the last decade, we’ve grown to understand that scholastic gaming has so much more potential.
In 2020, we began operating as Generation Esports, supporting the scholastic gaming space through ventures like the Middle School Esports League and partnered collegiate esports leagues. Additionally, we introduced Gaming Concepts, a set of for-credit courses created by teachers for teachers. These courses leverage students’ excitement of gaming and esports to boost their engagement in school and teach a variety of college and career readiness skills while fostering a sense of belonging.
By working together with educators and coaches, we’ve learned that the combination of both learning and competing is the “secret sauce” for maximizing student benefits. The combination of HSEL and Gaming Concepts will bring educational legitimacy to esports in your school community.
The Generation Esports team is composed of professionals from both education and esports to ensure that decisions are made with students and schools in mind. We are proud to count over 100 years of education experience from our former educators, scholastic esports coaches, and principals.
