20.1. Anti-Cheat

No additional anti-cheat is required for official matches.


20.2. Match Procedure

20.2.1. Series Lengths

Matches are played as a best of 3 series in the preseason and regular season, best of 5 in the postseason and Open grand finals, and best of 7 in Major/Summer Invitational grand finals.


20.2.2. Game Lobby

The higher seed will create the lobby. The following settings are to be used in official matches:

  • Time Limit: 300 seconds

  • No. of Matches to Win: 1 Match

  • Red Team Input Delay: 0

  • Blue Team Input Delay: 0

In the event that an incorrect ruleset is used, the match should be stopped and reset. Previously played stages with incorrect format will not count toward the series.


20.2.3. Side Selection

The higher seed will have the pick of starting side (Red/Blue) for the first game. The loser of the game will have choice of side for the next game.


20.2.4. Character Selection

Characters are selected at the beginning of the match. If a player wins a game, they must use the same characters again. If a player loses a round, they may elect to change their characters for the following game.


20.2.5. Stage Selection

Stage selection set to “Random” and music selection must be set to “Auto” for each game.


20.3. Restrictions

No characters, colors, stages, or music are currently prohibited in official matches.


20.4. Stoppage of Play

Players pausing the match at any point in the match by intentionally, or unintentionally pressing the start button or unplugging their controller will result in the pausing player to forfeit the round.


20.5. Player Count

Matches are played as 1 versus 1, meaning that only one player may participate in the match for either side. No player substitutions may be made at any point during the match.
